N.d., early 20th century. Oblong, 13 by 9 inches, or 33 by 23 cm. Brightly colored whimsical plates of animals in a pre-Loony Toon cavort and gambol. There are 16 of these color plates in all, counting the title and table of contents pages. 12 of the plates illustrate verses on the facing pages, and these verses are also richly illustrated with line drawings, and there are line drawings on leaves facing title pages to each of the verses. Paper throughout is card stock. Illustrated paper pasted onto boards for the binding. Minor offsetting of color plates onto verse pages. Edge rubbing by gutter with minor loss of outer sheet. Some typical, light edgewear beside. Overall, near fine or fine.
