Of interest beyond parochial Philadelphia history, since picks up quite a lot of general interest on the industrialization of America, attitudes towards blacks, religious attitudes, etc. But this is not to minimize its value and enjoyment as a snapshot on Philadelphia at the zenith of its relative importance within the new Republic. Moderate toning/browning of leaves, but otherwise mostly clean. Some soilage evident on foreedges. Recased, with original spine label preserved.
