A lovely Danish commonplace book or album, with watercolors, sketches, and verse (in Danish). 4to. 28 by 20.5 cm. Unpaginated, 22 pages with content. Fifteen of these pages have illustrations, most of which are watercolors or wash (seven by our count), one is colored pencil, the others pencil or pen and ink. Subjects include boats, an Italian view, trompe d'oeil cards. We would say most, but not all, are by a single capable hand, possibly bearing the surname of Olsgaard. The text entries are by many different people, and most of these are dated 1893. Moderate wear. Cracked spine.
