(Title, 3, six hand-colored plates, blank, title, six hand-colored plates, blank, title, five hand-colored plates, blank, title, seven hand-colored plates, blank.) The four works, while separate, are all of a piece in their oblong dimensions, their general format and humor, their publication details (self-published, with Robins as the vendor). Phreonological Illustrations here was issued one year after the first edition, but the plates are all watermarked August 1826. The Illustrations of Time is a first edition. Cohn 178 and 179. The Scraps and Sketches are both first editions. Cohn 180. Two other installments, those of 1830 and 1831, are not included here. Light scattered foxing and soiling (finger smudges) throughout, with most of it on the tissue guards. On the prelims and two text pages of Phrenological Illustrations the foxing is a bit more prevalent. Edgewear to the binding, with rubbing along the edges especially at the corners. Rebacked, with matching leather. Newer endpapers. Handsome original leather label on front board.
