With time on our hands during the Coronavirus lockdown, we are reviewing the prices of some of our older stock and adjusting prices of books to ensure that they are the most attractive offering in the marketplace, as it is a reality of the antiquarian market for books that less expensive and mid-level material the trend has been inexorably downward, to the chagrin of booksellers and to the benefit of collectors.  Consequently, we have slashed prices anywhere between 20 percent and 60 percent of these books we have had listed for five years or more.  So we hope that anyone visiting the site might find something that might have become overpriced but now legitimately qualifies as a bargain.

London George Virtue First Three Quarters Leather Very Good 
4to. 188 + 152 pp. 2 engraved titles, 106 steel-engraved plates and 1 fold. engr. map. Volumes measure 10.25 by 8 inches. Leather spines rubbed and quite dry. Lettering clear. Leather corners very rubbed to board underneath. Volume 1 cloth boards have light bubbling on front, a bit heavier on rear where short separation by leather overlay. Volume 2 no issue in this respect. Bindings both tight. Interiors generally clean, with occasional light foxing. Ad supplement of Volume 2 has small hole. Tissue guards generally intact. Overall, VG..

Fine fore-edge paintings in near miniature volumes! Paintings depict a fox hunt and two village scenes, one by a river front and bridge, the other by a commons. 16mo., 9.5 by 5. 5 cm. Each title has engraved frontis. Matching blindstamped and gilt dark green full morocco bindings. Heavily rubbed along joints, and other wear. Scattered foxing within. Fore-edge paintings crisp and bright.
