16mo. 99 by 63 mm. 120 pp. 11 hand-colored plates, including frontis, and hand-colored vignette on title. Five of the color plates are fashion plates, four of one or two people, and one illustrating several bonnets. The six other color plates are dramatic scenes (allegorical and comical among them). Outstanding about this almanac is the silk cover with hand-colored floral bouquets on the front and rear cover. The two bouquets are different from one another. Each is surrounded by gilt ruling and ornamental band. The booklet is housed in a slipcase, also silk moire, with a similar gilt border to that of the book. The contents are the typical myriad of topics touched on by an almanac of this type and era -- there is a piece on eclipses, thoughts on beauty, several poems and short stories, one of the latter about Henri IV of France and one of his mistresses, etc. etc. Rare, with no copies of this almanac found outside German institutions on OCLC. Condition: moderate soiling to the slipcase, which otherwise retains structural integrity. A lighter amount of soiling to the silk cover of the book proper. The book is overall clean within.
