Highly readable and entertaining biography of the colorful art impresario of the turn-of-the-twentieth century who made a fortune selling and reselling Old Masters paintings from impoverished European nobility to American Robber Barons. Behrman was a highly successful and commercial playwright on Broadway in the mid-20th century and in fact based one of his plays, "Pongo", loosely on Duveen, with Charles Boyer cast in the part of the larger than life gallery owner.
