Highly colorful chromolithograpically illustrated calendar in pristine condition. The original box, a highly unusual survivor for this kind of thing, measures 25.5 by 16.5 cm, oblong, and this is essentially the outer dimensions of this "shaped" booklet. The shaping is the delicate outline of a wreath, if you will, of roses. Six card stock pages, each presenting two months and decorated with flowers, and these are bound together with ribbon. The box has a few tears on the lower sides. View More...

Unusual chromolithographic calendar which opens like a three panel mirror that might sit atop a lady's vanity. Closed, the calendar is 28 by 20 cm. Its full width when opened is 60 cm. When the top panels are pulled opened and to the side, revealed are three portraits of a beautiful young blue-eyed woman, the central portrait a bust, the two side portraits, full body and partial profiles. The decoration is a combination of Art Nouveau and Rococo Revival, with thick gilt serving as an outline border. The whole production is very pretty, if kitschy, with such things as the two outer panels ... View More...
Booklet, 16mo. 9.5 cm tall, and opened to 12.5 cm wide. The card base is slightly larger, with feet and a top piece that from top to bottom measure 12.5 cm. The feet look like tabs if one focuses only on them, but gazing at the whole, one sees they are meant, with the top piece, to mimic an easel upon which the booklet rests. In the back of the card is a metal support which was meant to be pulled out to allow for the whole thing to stand up. (Here the metal is unused and thus unbent.) The back of the card also has Pompeian urn ornamentation and the date "1930". The booklet: 32 pp. Th... View More...

Anthropomorphic chimpanzees in the corporate world, roller skating, evading the T-Man, dancing, etc. Lawson Wood is the Norman Rockwell of the chimp world. His smoothly rendered, colorful fantasies are certain to produce a grin in even the most hardened cynic. Throu... View More...
