One of 200 copies printed on hand-made paper in the Golden Type. The first book of the Kelmscott Press. 8vo. 21 by 14.5 cm. 188 pp. A lovely copy. The book once belonged to the Fine Arts Department at the University of Pittsburgh, but the only evidence of their former ownership is an extremely faint, small and shallow blindstamp on a blank prelim leaf (one with "a" printed) -- this inconspicuous impression, easy to miss, is neatly placed below the "a". Otherwise, typical, but moderate, fanning out of the vellum, with very light soiling on the vellum -- one might fairly regard this as age seasoning or toning as well. The leaves within have a touch of age toning along the edges. With the original string ties still preserved, with perhaps one slightly shortened.
